Celebrating 20 Years of LSC in New Zealand

Prior to 2004, LSC worked with a trio of local distributors to support our premium brands such as Silca.

We wanted to help customers over the ditch access the kind of Account Management and Support we offered in Australia, so in late 2003 a plan was hatched and we opened our new operation in Glenfield, Auckland in March 2004.

The initial team was small, but from those early years we still have a few people who are involved in our business today – both in Australia (Richard Hoares and Darren Lintern), and in New Zealand (Luke Hopewell and Vasant Vale).

From those early days, we dived into the market and quickly got in front of customers to help them access the best range of products in the industry. We attended trade shows and events, and brought our ‘road-show’ to venues all over the country.

We brought our original Show-bus over, and it made a couple of laps of both islands (and had its air-conditioner famously trashed by Kea parrots who chewed through some rubber hoses so it never worked again – quite the surprise to the Aussies who thought only they had aggressive natives).

Today our business in New Zealand is thriving, we quickly outgrew our original location in Argus Place, and the Poland Road site is full of great product from all over the world.

Our local technical support and account management team are highly trained industry experts, and we’re helping our customers evolve their business with electronic security, while maintaining traditional product innovation and quality.
