Step 1
Program new key with Com-Code, Yazaki or AD50.
Read and identify 4, 5 or 6 digit security code from an existing key.
If no existing key is present identify security code from Security Pass Card, through dealer inquiry* or by way of reading it from vehicle with a diagnostic tool.
*NOTE: Code provided by dealer may not be correct if the BCM in the vehicle has been replaced.
With or without an existing key Select ENTERING CODE under Commodore in RW4 Menu or PROGRAM KEY in AD50 as opposed to copy key.
Remember to add zeros to the beginning of the code to make 6 digits if needed. EXAMPLE: “1234” becomes “001234”.
Step 2
Open the car with the OLD key, MECHANICALLY.
Put key in lock, DO NOT use remote to unlock the door.
Step 2- VXII equipped with factory alarm
- Open the car with the existing remote.
- Get in car and shut the door. Wait 2 Minutes.
Then proceed to Step 4
Step 3
Sit in car and close the door.
Step 4
Put the
NEW key in the ignition, turn
ON, let the car run for 10 Seconds.
Step 5
Turn ignition OFF and remove key.
Step 6
Get out of the car and close the door.
Step 7
Use the remote on the NEW key to lock the car.
Synchronisation
In some instances a synchronisation procedure may be required as follows:
While sitting in the car with the key removed and doors closed wait for the security light to begin flashing.
Once flashing turn the ignition ON–OFF –ON–OFF–ON–OFF with a short pause of 1 second between each state while ensuring the key is in contact with the ignition slip-ring.
Attempt to start the car and let it run for 10 seconds.
Then test the remote lock unlock buttons.
This may need two attempts to be successful.
