The biggest event on the locksmithing calendar in 2024 did not disappoint, with the best-in-the-business flocking to Adelaide for the 2024 MLAA National Conference & Trade Expo at the Stamford Grand Hotel. This year's program included a great mix of business and skills sessions, a trade exhibition and the opportunity to network with old colleagues, friends and suppliers.
We have approached this year and this event, with a clear purpose, and that is to be a locksmith's partner in locksmithing. We were therefore delighted to unveil two exciting new brands in McGrath Locks and Protector at the event. Both of which, fill needs in the Australian market and excitingly compliment our existing product range, to truly help us to be a locksmith's one-stop-shop.
In particular, Mcgrath Locks brings several innovative products to the industry, that are completely unique to that brand! For example, the Ultra-Secua is a digital bluetooth Screen Door Lock with an inbuilt keypad and mechanical key override. Likewise, the Ascot is a double sided digital bluetooth gate lock with keypad, mechanical key override, which can be locked independently on each side.
As always, key cutting machines from Silca were a huge drawcard. We were also delighted to hand out our newly launched, comprehensive BRAVA catalogue.
This year was very special in the sense that ABUS celebrated 100 years since its establishment. Renowned for it's quality, ABUS is an icon in the Australian industry, and their longstanding willingness to communicate with, and innovate to assist working locksmiths here in Australia doesn't go unnoticed. Attendees were delighted to receive personalised, engraved commemorative ABUS padlocks at our stand, which were engraved live by our friend Howard.
We congratulate Toby Simpson from Salisbury Locksmiths in South Australia for winning the prestigious John Andrew Apprentice of the Year competition. Jointly sponsored by Silca, ABUS & LSC, Toby and his mentor, Leon Taylor, will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the Silca factory in Veneto, Italy & ABUS’ factory in Wetter, Germany.
It was great to bring along so many of our supplier friends, many of whom travelled internationally for the occasion, to the event. Industry experts from ABUS, Silca, McGrath Locks, SECURAM and SALTO Systems were all in attendance. We certainly hope you enjoyed our Complete range of Security Solutions that we showcased across our stands.
