TAFE Students get Hands-On with McGrath Smart Locks

LSC recently partnered with NSW TAFE to give students a hands-on experience trialling the latest in Smart Lock technology.

This initiative allowed future tradespeople to explore real-world applications of electronic access solutions and deepen their understanding of end-user needs.

During the trial, students were tasked with selecting and installing appropriate Smart Locks in line with Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and Fire Safety standards. They also configured gateways and set up mobile applications used for Smart Lock management.

As part of the experience, students learned how to assist future end users with app registration and lock operation, while gaining valuable insight into maintenance and servicing best practices for long-term system performance.

This hands-on trial not only strengthened students’ technical skills but also highlighted the importance of combining compliance, user experience, and practical know-how in the growing smart security space.
